Ms. Greenwald: One can not "...fight for a decent minimum wage" while simultaneously advocating for "fiscal responsibility". The two are mutually exclusive. Workers who choose to work for private employers mutually agree to a wage, working conditions, hours, benefits, etc. Unless there is fraud or other deceit on the part of either party, which can be legally aggrieved, government should have no role in this process. I am also unclear how agents of the government will "...fight for respect for the environment." People either respect the environment (hopefully) or they do not. We do not need the heavy hand of government dictating what we will and will not "respect". Why not simply say "We need bigger, costlier, more intrusive government" and be done with it.
